The Department of Urban Studies and Planning at California State University, Northridge is seeking applicants for a Part-time Faculty position to teach URBS 340B – Qualitative Urban Research Methods, for Spring 2018.

Course or Specialization:
This is an introduction to research designs and methodologies incorporating qualitative methods of data collection such as archival research, interviews, behavior mapping, cognitive mapping, participant observation, and survey instruments. The ethical treatment of research subjects is also address. The course emphasizes student generated research design, fieldwork, data analysis and final project.

Qualifications:
- Completion of a master’s degree is required, Ph.D. desired, in urban studies, planning (city, urban, regional, etc.), or a closely related field.
- Prior university or college level teaching desired with positive teaching evaluations and significant professional experience, especially in applied research design.
- Ability to teach/mentor a diverse student population.
