The Department of Urban Studies and Planning at California State University, Northridge is seeking applicants for a Part-time Faculty position to teach URBS 206 – "Introduction to Graphic Communication Tools Used by Urban Studies and Planning Professionals" for Spring 2018.

Courses or Specialization:
This course will focus on graphic communications tools commonly used by planning professionals. The development of maps, charts, drawings and 3D visualizations enhance the ability of professionals to interact with clients and the public. The use of GIS to perform spatial analysis and present spatial data will be emphasized. The course will also provide a fundamental knowledge of CAD for creating maps and drawings of 3D visualization tools to enhance public understanding of proposals.

- Completion of a master’s degree is required, Ph.D. desired, in urban studies, planning (city, urban, regional, etc.), or a closely related field.
- Prior university or college-level teaching experience with positive teaching evaluations.
- Experience in GIS and Sketch-Up required.
- Ability to teach/mentor a diverse student population.
