The University of Illinois at Chicago Department of Urban Planning and Policy will be hosting an international conference on participatory planning at UIC September 24-26, 2018.
This conference focuses on socio-spatial concepts in interdisciplinary and participatory approaches to planning, community development, and on various approaches to implementing governance in processes of interdisciplinary and socio-spatial urban planning.
The aim is to bring a diverse, international and interdisciplinary group of 100-125 academics and practitioners for 3 days to discuss and debate what participation means and the many ways we can make it happen.
Yasminah Beebeejaun, Bartlett School of Planning at University College London and editor of The Participatory City (2016), will be a keynote speaker.
Abstract deadline is 20 February 2018.
Please consider submitting an abstract, and inviting your networks and colleagues to submit a proposal or to come participate!
Participate! is jointly organized with Hochschule Luzerne, Switzerland.
