The Ph.D. program in Global Urban Studies (GUS) at Rutgers University-Newark has funding available for a highly qualified candidate to begin studies in Sound Environments in Fall 2019.

The Sound Environments concentration explores sound as a cultural, historical, and ecological part of urban environments. This opportunity allows a student to take part in collaborative research on urban sound environments. Please contact Dr. Eva Giloi (evagiloi@newark.rutgers.edu) and Dr. Rachel Mundy (rmm290@newark.rutgers.edu) with questions about the Sound Environments position. Please contact GUS co-directors Dr. Mara Sidney (msidney@newark.rutgers.edu) and Dr. Sean Mitchell (seantm@rutgers.edu) with broad questions about GUS. Review of applications begins June 1, 2019. We will continue to consider applicants until July 1, 2019. Global Urban Studies is part of the Joint Ph.D. program in Urban Systems, a collaboration between Rutgers University-Newark and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. We build policy-oriented, interdisciplinary, and global knowledge about cities through innovative curriculum and research grounded in the social sciences and humanities.
