The Urban Affairs Association (UAA) is seeking nominations for the Emerging Scholar Award to recognize emerging scholars whose work exemplifies outstanding scholarship in urban affairs.

Do you know an emerging scholar?
Nominate a student or recent graduate (within the last year) for the emerging scholar award whose doctoral research is related to urban affairs. Nominations are welcomed from any academic discipline. The nominee must have finished their coursework, passed comprehensive examinations, have an approved dissertation proposal, or be a recent graduate. The nominator must have a current UAA membership. A nominator may submit nominations for more than one student or recent graduate (in 2019).

Are you an emerging scholar?
Nominees must have finished their coursework, passed their comprehensive examinations, and have an approved dissertation proposal, or be a recent graduate (in 2019). The nominee is not required to hold a UAA membership, however the nominator must be a UAA member.

Award Benefits 
The recipient receives a $1,000 honorarium, a plaque, a complimentary registration to the conference, and an invitation to the Annual VIP Dinner Reception. The award winner will be presented with the plaque and honorarium at the annual Awards Luncheon held during the spring conference. Modest lodging support may also be available.
