The Urban and Regional Planning (URP) Graduate Program in the College of Architecture, Construction and Planning at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position beginning in August 2021. The successful candidate will be active in the field of urban data analytics, with an emphasis on smart and connected cities and infrastructure. This faculty member will join a rapidly growing group of transdisciplinary scholars at UTSA who are committed to the broad field of data science. The position will further provide an opportunity to help launch an Urban Science Institute and to collaborate with scholars from the recently established UTSA School of Data Science. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

A. PhD in Urban and Regional Planning or related field from accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered.
B. Active in field of urban data analytics
C. Potential to establish a clear research program
D. Potential to teach and mentor first-generation or underrepresented students

Preferred Qualifications:

A. Ability to establish a research program related to housing, smart and connected infrastructure, or urban design
B. Membership in American Institute of Certified Planners
C. Record of excellence in university-level teaching
D. Record of excellence in professional practice or community outreach
E. Record of excellence in transdisciplinary research
