MDOT is looking for a passionate, results-oriented leader to develop, manage and support data-driven diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies by partnering with internal and external organizational groups. The role includes working across the organization to optimize organizational culture, align equity and inclusion goals with business outcomes, and be able to respond to changes or policies that affect employee and customer populations. The ideal candidate has held a leadership position in a mid-sized company, who has developed strategic plans and demonstrated effective partnerships with various parts of the organization to drive inclusion. This includes developing and supporting change and culture management initiatives by serving as a leader through education and collaboration on equity and inclusion initiatives across the department. Successful candidates will have a background in identifying new programs or initiatives that can bolster diversity within the organization and promote community engagement. This position will lead organizational change by promoting the Department’s commitment to culturally and racially inclusive business processes and programs, while building key partnerships with local, state, regional and federal agencies and special interest stakeholders to expand, support and engage diverse communities. This position will also consult and provide technical assistance on implementing an equity lens into MDOT programs, policies, procedures and legislation that affect internal and external stakeholders.

Required Education and Experience
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.

Two years of experience as a director of a division.
