Research Associate/Program Mgr/Program Manager

Position Description:
Employs a broad knowledge of research principles, practices, and procedures to plan, coordinate and conduct research related to economic development. Participates in identifying, developing and securing external grants and contracts to support Center programs. Serves as a researcher, project or program manager on a portfolio of research projects, conducts applied research, and writes project reports. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in economic development, economics, urban studies, or related field. Three years of experience in applied research, statistical analyses, writing reports, and project grant writing.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in economic development, economics, urban studies, or related field. Proven ability to lead major research projects. Three years prior management experience being a PI of a research project(s). Experience in major grant writing, client relationships, and two years managing a research program. Experience in identifying and developing external funding sources and potential clients to generate clientele and new projects. Proficiency in SAS and management of confidential and proprietary databases. Expertise in survey methodology, including developing questionnaire design, methodological protocols, survey implementation, survey management, and analysis of the results. Experience in leveraging streams of external funding. Successful record of securing grants and contract funding opportunities. Record of prominence in the field.
