This research faculty position will play a leadership role in the design, execution, and communication about quantitative analysis about eviction policy in Oregon, including but not limited to: emergency rental assistance, other forms of eviction diversion, and eviction outcomes, including at an individual, population, and spatial scale, as per the researcher’s interest and expertise. We are seeking a researcher who is familiar with the state of knowledge and ready to lead research on eviction in Oregon, where there has been little empirical study of the scope and impact of eviction or evaluation of diversion policies, landlord-tenant law, or court processes.

The position will be responsible for research responding to sponsor agencies’ scope of work to produce statistical analysis to evaluate policies and programs for eviction diversion and defense in Oregon. This position will focus primarily on statistical analysis of large datasets, including relational databases of eviction, emergency rent assistance; and administrative data from social services programs; spatial databases including property and demographic datasets. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead and execute database management (including extracting, constructing, and maintaining relational databases); choosing methods and conducting statistical analysis using appropriate and advanced statistical techniques; and effectively communicating results including written, graphical, and cartographical forms. The candidate should have experience with preparing regular written reports for a policy audience including government employees and elected officials, and an interest in authoring or co-authoring scholarly research articles.

This role may be appointed at the rank of Research Associate, which requires 4 or more years of progressively responsible research experience, or a Masters degree with experience. A candidate with more advanced research experience of 6+ years or a Doctoral degree will be considered for the rank of Senior Research Associate I.
