The Department of City & Metropolitan Planning (CMP) within the University of Utah’s College of Architecture + Planning invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Planning. This position will be a 9-month appointment (1.0 FTE) to begin on July 1, 2023. We are interested in candidates whose work occurs at the intersection of planning for diverse populations and topics such as affordable housing, local economic development, trauma-informed planning, and planning for climate change. The successful candidate will be able to work across a range of scales from the neighborhood to the region, potentially addressing issues related to the Intermountain West and engaging local urban and rural communities. Our priority is to hire someone interested in collaborating with local community-based organizations such as the University Neighborhood Partners, NeighborWorks Salt Lake, and other organizations representing Utah’s indigenous, immigrant, Latin/x, or Pacific Islander communities. A doctoral degree in Planning, public policy, or a related field is required by July 1, 2023.
