Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Urban Politics & Planning
University College London

I first started attending the Urban Affairs Association conference ten years ago after hearing what a great conference it was. I was a little apprehensive at first, as I only knew a handful of people as a European scholar. I have continued to come back to UAA and was honored to have been elected a member of the Governing Board in 2014. As an international scholar, it has been wonderful to find an intellectual home focused upon progressive urban studies and scholar activism. UAA has not only helped shape my academic career, but is a place where I have built many lasting friendships.
