The International Conference on Urban Affairs welcomes attendees from around the world. We understand that travel and conference funding require special documents. As a result, UAA provides the following support to international attendees presenting at the conference.

  1. Letter of Invitation
  2. Certificate of Attendance

Both documents can be requested during the conference registration process.

Letter of Invitation

Provided only to persons who:

  1. Have received a formal acceptance notice AND
  2. Have paid their conference registration fees

A letter of invitation for visa application will be provided ONLY to persons accepted as conference presenters who have paid their registration fees. We do not provide letters to co-authors, only to the presenter. Only one letter of invitation will be issued for a presentation. If the original presenter cannot attend the conference, under no circumstance will a second letter of invitation be issued. If the original presenter cannot attend, the presentation should be withdrawn.

To request a letter, please register for the conference and indicate on the registration form that you would like a Letter of Invitation.

Important: If your visa request is denied after you have registered for the conference, you are required to supply a copy of the decision letter from the embassy office, in order to get a registration refund minus a 10% administrative fee. No embassy letter, no refund.

Certification of Attendance

If you are an accepted conference presenter (i.e., you were formally notified by the UAA Executive Office that your proposal was accepted) you may register for the conference and request a Certification of Attendance through the registration form.

Certificates are only provided to those who have checked-in to the conference event. Once your attendance has been verified, you will receive a PDF of the certificate within 2-4 business days.
