Part-time Philanthropy and Fundraising Lecturer (non-tenure-track)
The Department of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning at Tufts University, in collaboration with the Museum Studies Program, is searching for a part?time lecturer to teach a graduate-level course, Philanthropy and Fundraising, during Summer 2023. Summer Session I starts May 24 and ends June 30. Summer Session II starts July 5 and ends August 11.
Philanthropy and Fundraising will provide an overview of the history and practice of organized philanthropy and fundraising. The course will examine opportunities and constraints of the various philanthropic sectors and the role of private philanthropic support in healthy nonprofit organizations. It will introduce strategic models and specific fundraising tools for planning and managing a sustainable nonprofit organization. Topics include funding strategy and research, proposal development, private foundations, public foundations, corporate foundations, and corporate giving and individual donors.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have professional experience in philanthropy and fundraising. A Master’s degree is required; additional advanced educational attainment and/or certification is preferred. A record of teaching in higher education or similar teaching or training experience is strongly preferred.
