The Urban Affairs Association offers professional development opportunities throughout the year in the areas of:  Career Pathways, Teaching & Publishing. 

Description

The Publishing Fellows program is for early career scholars (Masters students, Doctoral students, untenured assistant professors). The program will include writing and publication workshops, as well as individual and group opportunities for faculty feedback on participants’ individual manuscripts.

Selected participants will be required to submit a 2 – 3 page paper outline by November with the goal of completing a full version of the manuscript ready for submission to a peer-reviewed journal by the completion of the program in August.

Expectations

  2. Completion of a full version of the manuscript ready for submission to a peer-reviewed journal by the completion of the program in August
  3. Attendance at Intro Meeting (Fellows, SDEs, and Reviewers)
  4. Attendance at Fall Webinar
  5. Completing manuscript-related writing, revision
  6. Attending any manuscript-related one-on-one meetings
  7. Participation in UAA Conference Publishing Fellows Meeting
  8. Participation in UAA Conference Publishing Fellows Recruitment Meeting for Next Cohort
