Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland, College Park, seeks to appoint a full-time Assistant Clinical Professor with expertise in Governance, Management, Ethics, and Leadership, starting in Fall 2025. This appointment entails a teaching load of six courses per academic year, with a primary focus on teaching governance, management, ethics, and leadership courses in the master’s, undergraduate, and executive programs. They will mentor and help students gain practical experience in the policy world. They will also engage in other activities that serve the academic mission and governance of the School and University equivalent to approximately 25% of their working hours. This is a non-tenurable appointment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Candidates must have a terminal degree in public administration, public policy, political science, or a related field.
Experience:
- Candidates must have higher-education teaching experience in a relevant field.
- Candidates must have 5+ years of relevant professional experience in governments, non-profits, international organizations, and related institutions.
Preferences:
- Candidates with 15+ years of relevant professional experience in governments, non-profits, international organizations, and related institutions are preferred. Lengthier tenure and higher rank of relevant professional experience will be valued.
- Candidates are expected to have a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentorship at either the undergraduate or graduate levels, including working with students and groups from minoritized groups. Experience teaching and mentoring in executive programs is a plus.
- Candidates with a demonstrated ability to use (a) active learning and/or (b) equity-centered pedagogies and techniques in teaching and mentoring are preferred.
