The Department of Public Affairs and Planning (PAPL) in the College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs (CAPPA) at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) invites applications for a full-time 9-month, non-tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice to begin Fall 2025.
We seek a colleague whose demonstrated leadership and career achievements in the discipline of city and regional planning prepared them to teach and inspire students to be professional planners. Experience in teaching undergraduate students is essential.
Applicants must have a master’s degree in planning and significant experience in city and regional planning. The successful candidate must demonstrate potential to excel in teaching and develop collaborations with community partners. Candidates should have a strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration at departmental, college and university levels.
Teaching interests related to interdisciplinary work would be a strong asset. Applicants with AICP certification is strongly preferred. Experience and interest in working with faculty on multidisciplinary research and teaching is valued, especially in other college areas such public administration, public policy, urban design, and architecture.
