The 2023 Skystone Partners Prize for Research on Fundraising and Philanthropy presented by The AFP

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS OR NOMINATIONS

Authors of published research works on fundraising and philanthropy are invited to submit a book or monograph of 50 or more pages for the 2023 AFP/Skystone Partners Prize for Research on Fundraising and Philanthropy. Other individuals or organizations may submit nominations of appropriate publications. To be considered for the Prize, works must be published by a commercial publishing house or a professional organization between October 1, 2020 and October 1, 2022. Publications must be based on either applied or basic research. All Research Prize entries must reflect a standard publisher selection process without regard to the source and sponsorship of the research. The Prize Jury will not consider unpublished theses or dissertations, self-published works, directories, op-ed pieces, or editorials. If the work is a 2nd or 3rd edition, the applicant must include a description of how it provides a new contribution beyond the last edition.

Cash awards of up to $5,000 will be presented to the winner(s) of the competition. Winners will also be introduced at the AFP Board meeting prior to the AFP International Conference on Fundraising in New Orleans, LA in Spring 2023. A complimentary conference registration and travel stipend are available for award winners. The travel stipend is up to $1,500 for individuals who reside in North America and up to $2,500 for award winners who reside outside North America.

The AFP Research Council subcommittee uses the following criteria in judging submissions: Substantive contribution to knowledge and understanding of fundraising and/or philanthropic behavior; relevant insights for donors, grant makers or fundraisers; creativity and depth of analysis; and quality of style, readability and format.

Submission form and six copies of the published work must be received by November 15, 2022. The short submission form is available at https://afpglobal.org/skystone-partners-prize-research-fundraising-and-philanthropy
