The Urban Studies Program at The College of Wooster invites applications for a tenure-track position in Urban Studies at the level of Assistant Professor, beginning in August 2026, pending final administrative approval. We are seeking an urbanist with a Ph.D. in Urban Studies, Sociology or a closely related field, whose teaching and research focuses either on urban housing or transportation. The candidate must be able to teach Introduction to Urban Studies, Introduction to Sociology, Social Theory, and an elective in their area of specialization. The ability to offer a course in GIS is also highly desirable.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to supervise undergraduate research projects as part of the College’s Independent Study (I.S) requirement. All faculty teach non-major courses and contribute to the First-Year Seminar Program. The teaching load is 5.5 courses per year (which includes credited mentoring for student I.S. projects).
