Institutional Member

Eligibility
Any formally organized unit or organization that engages in education, research, training, service or administration in the field of urban affairs shall be eligible for Institutional Membership subject to Board review. A “formally organized unit or organization” is defined as an operational entity possessing attributes such as a budgeted staff, office space, website presence, and a professional head.

Description of Benefits
Each institutional member will designate ONE representative that serves as the primary contact between UAA and the institution. That person (or a designee) is eligible for a discounted conference registration rate that is lower than the discounted rate offered to individual members.

Institutional members receive a copy of each issue of the Journal of Urban Affairs, the major UAA publication, which is now published eight times year. Institutional members have the option of linking their program/department website to UAA’s homepage to gain greater visibility, and recruit potential students. They can also submit items to be posted on the UAA News section of the UAA web site. These news items are also shared in our email alerts and across our social media platforms.

Institutional members have the option to place job ads on the UAA web site free of charge throughout the year. This benefit represents a $300 waiver of normal ad fees. Institutional members can request one free rental per year of UAA’s comprehensive postal mailing list (another $300 value benefit). Institutional members also have the option of having free exhibit space at our conferences (a $150 value).

Dues
Institutional dues for UAA are $345 per year (plus $8 credit card/check processing fee).
